Davenport Woman Rescued and Arrested After Being Found Stuck Between Walls of Illinois Business

Authorities in Geneseo, Illinois, made a surprising discovery this week after finding a woman trapped between the walls of a local business. The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, November 5, after police received a report of a suspected break-in at a property located on the 100 block of North State Street.

According to the Geneseo Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find signs of forced entry into the closed business. While searching the building, they were startled to hear faint cries for help coming from within the walls. Emergency crews from the Geneseo Fire Department were immediately called to assist.

Firefighters carefully cut through a section of drywall to reach the woman, who was discovered wedged in a narrow space between the building’s interior and exterior walls. After being safely rescued, she was treated at the scene by paramedics and later taken into custody.

Police confirmed that the woman, a resident of Davenport, Iowa, was transported to the Henry County Jail, where she now faces preliminary charges of burglary and criminal damage to property. Investigators are still working to determine how she became trapped and whether she had any accomplices.

Witnesses in the area described the situation as “unbelievable,” watching as firefighters worked meticulously to free the woman. The rescue operation took nearly an hour and drew attention from nearby shop owners and passersby.

Officials have not released the woman’s name pending further investigation. The case remains active, and additional details are expected once the inquiry concludes.
