Disney Channels Return to YouTube TV After New Agreement With Alphabet

A brief but disruptive blackout on YouTube TV has come to an end after Disney and Alphabet finalized a fresh multi-year distribution deal. The agreement, announced late Friday, restores a wide range of Disney-owned networks that disappeared from the platform for more than a day.

Millions of YouTube TV subscribers temporarily lost access to major channels such as ABC, ESPN, FX, National Geographic and Disney Channel when the previous contract expired. The outage arrived at an inconvenient moment for viewers, especially sports fans who rely on ESPN and its related networks for live games and analysis.

The companies did not disclose the financial details behind the renewed arrangement, though the dispute centered on carriage fees-payments YouTube TV provides to carry Disney’s content portfolio. Negotiations moved quickly, and the deal was finalized before the blackout extended into the weekend’s major sports broadcasts.

With the new pact in place, all affected channels have been fully restored to YouTube TV’s base lineup. Subscribers did not see any service interruptions beyond the brief outage, and the agreement does not include an immediate price increase for the streaming service’s monthly plan.

The swift resolution ensures uninterrupted access to Disney’s entertainment, news, and sports programming, preserving YouTube TV’s appeal as a comprehensive live-TV streaming option for millions of households.
