Search Effort Begins After Emergency Call
The emergency response was initiated late Monday morning when local law enforcement received a distress call from a hiker reporting that his 19-year-old companion had fallen hundreds of feet near the Devil’s Backbone trail, a narrow and exposed ridgeline known for sudden drop-offs. The reporting individual traveled to a location with cell service to relay coordinates to emergency teams.
