Father and Daughter Die in Florida Plane Crash During Humanitarian Mission to Jamaica

A tragic plane crash in Coral Springs, Florida, claimed the lives of a father and daughter who were on a humanitarian mission to deliver hurricane relief supplies to Jamaica. Authorities confirmed that the twin-engine Beechcraft King Air crashed down shortly after taking off from Fort Lauderdale on the morning of November 10, 2025.

The plane carrying 53-year-old Alexander Wurm crashed into a pond near Coral Springs. Wurm, a Christian ministry founder focused on humanitarian aid, was traveling with his 22-year-old daughter, Serena. Both tragically died at the site.

Emergency responders from the Coral Springs Fire Department quickly arrived and conducted a recovery operation after finding the aircraft submerged in the pond. Divers retrieved the bodies and began the process of removing the wreckage from the water. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have since launched an investigation into what caused the crash.

According to officials, the father-daughter team had been flying hurricane relief supplies to Jamaica, which was recently hit by a powerful storm that left thousands in need of aid. Their small aircraft was loaded with food, medical kits, and other essentials intended for affected communities.

Witnesses in the area reported hearing the engine sputtering before the plane descended rapidly into the water. Local authorities have cordoned off the area as investigators examine flight data and weather conditions at the time of the incident.

Neighbors and community members have expressed grief and admiration for the Wurms selflessness. “They lived to serve others. Their mission was always about love and compassion,” said one family friend.

Officials described the crash as a devastating loss for the local faith community and for those who depended on the ministry’s relief missions. While the cause remains under investigation, both federal and local agencies have pledged a thorough review of all contributing factors. The Wurms final flight was a testament to their dedication to humanitarian work – a mission cut short, but one that leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and faith.
